Places to Visit in Berlin


Various reasons can be located in order to visit Berlin. For the history enthusiasts, there is an excellent dose of gothic architecture as well as different places from the pages of World War II. It is not possible to forget about Berlin Wall at any given condition. Museums, opera house and cathedral can certainly bring smile in the faces of the travelers. Day trips can be arranged for optimum pleasure of the traveler. These places can be visited quite easily and it is definitely worth for a visit.

Wannsee

During hot weather in summer, a weekend can be spent in the shores of the Lake Wannsee. It is located at one of the western edge of the country. Wannsee has become summer residence for wealthy people. Most of the people like to rent or buy a cabin or yacht for the season. There are various sailing clubs in the city in order to entertain the traveler completely. Leibermann Villa has become one the attractions of Berlin as well. Marlier Villa is a museum that can be enjoyed by the travelers. Third Reich has made various cruel decisions in this villa. Therefore, it has acquired a place in the mind quite naturally. One of the major reasons behind coming to this place is delight. Both the sun and white sand can be enjoyed in the shores of crystal clear water of Wannsee.

Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp

Saxon House has come across as one of the concentration camps. It is placed in close proximity to Berlin. During the time of the war, soldiers are trained in this place before sending them in the field. Both the Jewish and other inmates have stayed in the concentration camp. Resistance fighters have been kept here as well. Various executions have been organized in this place. Reconstruction has been done in order to provide a great experience to the travelers. An idea can be given about the torture upon the prisoners as well. Extreme living conditions have been suffered by the prisoner as result of pain. In the year 2012, the concentration camp has been reopened as a museum. Tours are arranged in the renovated area along with the guard tower.

Spreewald

Spreewald has been maintained by the environmentalists as a national park for the ultimate security of different kinds of species. The place is maintained since 1990s. Channels of irrigation have been turned in to a canal in order to travel in the area through boats. It is not possible to see too much human residence in the area as it is harboring place of various species of birds and animal. Nature can be located in its purest form in this area.  Traveler can reach the place with one hour drive from Berlin. Therefore, a day is required to visit the place without any problem.
